Controlling your vehicle

Occasionally you may loose traction in the winter.  When this happens the first rule is “do not panic!”  Stay calm, pump your brakes, shift to neutral and slowly steer in the direction the rear wheels are going but look in the direction you want to go.   This will help you regain control.   When you have control, place the truck back into gear and slowly accelerate.   Do not stop!  Stopping will make you have to get traction again, instead accelerate slowly.

Always exercise caution on bridges, intersections, ramps, and in shadowed curves.  Try to stay out of white ice by staying out of other vehicle tracks and never make any sudden movements.
